Even a Small Amount of Weight Loss is Useful

Even 5% of weight loss may have an overall improvement in all co-morbities in obese people. Diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and arthritis improve. The biggest cause of arthritis or joint inflammation is to be overweight. In type II diabetes, it is more important to lose weight than to control one’s blood sugar. As weight is lost, blood sugar automatically is lowered. In liver inflammation, the best therapy is modest weight loss.

Fat liberates all kind of inflammatory products that cause disease. Baby fat is dangerous. Fat in the belly is dangerous. Fat around the waist, the so-called muffin top is dangerous. The best weight loss is achieved first through nutrition rather than through exercise alone.  Exercise is great for weight maintenance but not for  weight loss.

Worry what you put in your mouth. Some fats and carbohydrates need to be curtailed. Lean protein, some fruit and lots of vegetables are recommended.
